Emerald Hill ENERGY STORAGE

Emerald Hill Energy Storage is a 250-megawatt energy storage project that will bring sustainable, reliable energy to support the Texas grid. This project will be located in DeSoto, Texas on up to 15 acres of privately owned land, directly next to a pre-existing major electrical corridor serving the residents of Dallas County.

Adding energy storage to the Texas grid allows extra power to be stored when demand is low, which is then used when demand for energy increases. This partnership will help to reduce or avoid price spikes and supply shortfalls. With Texas’ all-in energy production model, every type of energy generated can help Texas remain an energy leader with a strong, reliable grid.

This project could be operational as soon as April 2026 with the potential to provide taxpayers, school districts, hospitals, the community college, and the local government with reliable economic benefits for years to come.
